Patsy Jane McElroy

Longtime, former Estacada resident, Patsy McElroy, died in Vancouver on July 3, 2019. She was 83. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Estacada Funeral Chapel followed by a procession to Sandy Ridge Cemetery. Patsy Jane Callens was born February 28, 1936 in Ridgely, Tennessee to Howard and Mary Ella (Hamilton) Callens. Her family moved from Tennessee to Los Angeles California when she was a young child. On November 27, 1954 she married Thomas McElroy in South San Gabriel, California. They owned a Baskin Robins 31 Flavors for several years before moving to Estacada in 1964. Patsy loved raising her children, enjoyed being part of the PTA, volun-teering in community events and later worked at the Portland Party Place. Tom died in 2001. Shortly after that she moved to Vancouver to be closer to family. Patsy was a member of the Hockinson Church of Christ. She loved flowers, working puzzles and being with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her sons Mike McElroy of Greeneville TN, Larry McElroy of Portland OR, daughter, Rita Irvin of Vancouver WA., 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 brother, James Callens of Azusa CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, son Gary and daughter Leslie. Contributions in her memory may be made to Cristina’s Adult Care home (SE Graham Rd) in Vancouver WA.
