In Loving Memory of Sophia Belle Montez
Sophia Belle Montez graced our lives with her vibrant spirit
on June 4, 2008, born to her loving parents, Stephen and Laura Montez in
Gresham, Oregon. Her early years were spent in Gresham, where she blossomed
until her family moved to Estacada when she was just 6 years old.
From a young age, Sophia exhibited passion and dedication in
all she pursued. She participated in soccer, dance, gymnastics, English, and
Western horse riding and, eventually, volleyball. Her love for volleyball and
her dedication to be great at this sport landed her a spot on the varsity team
as a freshman, where she worked hard to earn her right to play. Besides sports,
she also contributed to her community as a Girl Scout for six years, along with
helping with her older brother’s Scouting community activities.
Sophia leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished
memories. She is survived by her devoted parents, Stephen, and
Laura Montez; her beloved brother, Sam Montez; her cherished grandfather,
Ken Bellovin; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her deeply, as
well as her great nephew.
While her time with us was far too short, Sophia's radiant
spirit and zest for life will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of all
who knew her. She will be missed, but forever remembered in our hearts.
