Longtime Estacada resident, Arlene Schaffer, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at a Portland area hospital. She was 92 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Estacada Funeral Chapel. Private inurnment will be at Springwater Cemetery.
Lela Arlene Kirk was born May 20, 1931 in Vernonia, Oregon to Arthur and Margaret (Hall) Kirk. Arlene married Edward Schaffer on October 30, 1948 in Vernonia, Oregon. They made their home in Portland where they started their children. At that time Arlene and Ed were taking in foster children and later adopted 3 children. In 1969 they moved to Estacada where they continued raising their family.
Arlene was a member of the Eagle Creek Four Square Church and her grandchildren were her greatest joy and never missed a sporting events or concerts.
Survivors include her daughters, Renee' (Micheal) Harris, Shelley Schaffer; sons, Kirk (Lisa) Schaffer, Mark (Kellie) Schaffer, Brian (Adrean) Schaffer; daughter-in-law Tracy Schaffer; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
