Longtime Vancouver resident, Bill Irvin, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Vancouver. He was 51. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Crossroads Community Church with a gathering after. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2020 at Skyline Memorial Gardens. William Wesley Irvin was born April 9, 1968 in Portland, Oregon to James and Sharon (Adie) Irvin. He was raised in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School, after which he immediately began working for Bingham International. He began his 31-year career there working as a sweeper, and through perseverance and dedication ended his career in a senior level management position with the same company, now known as Sulzer Pumps US Inc. On August 21, 1999 Bill married Rita McElroy at her parents’ farmhouse in Estacada, Oregon. Bill and Rita met at Sulzer in the mid-1990’s, where Rita continues to work today. They made their home in Vancouver, WA. Bill was enamored with his granddaughter, Sophia, who he loved to spoil with chocolate and toys. He enjoyed collecting antiques, including guns and clocks, as well as playing poker with close friends. He was a proud member of the NRA. Bill took joy in spending time at the beach with his family in Depoe Bay, OR, where they vacationed each year. He is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Brian Adams; daughter, Stephanie Eaton; granddaughter, Sophia Eaton; sister, Renee O’Shea; and brother, Earl Irvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vicky Shively and brother Jimmy Irvin.
