It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Kenneth Meyer on October 9, 2023.
David was born May 6, 1943, in Hillsboro, Oregon to David Meyer and Lois Yovino. For most of his working career, David was a commercial fisherman and skilled boat builder. After his retirement, he became a taxi owner/driver in Estacada.
In 1965 David married the love of his life, Evelyn LaVonne Rose Smith. They were married for the next 48 years, when in 2013 she was called home to be with Jesus. Together they raised their 6 children. He is survived by 4 siblings: Stanley, Sandra, Florence, and Marie, 5 children: Florence Raye, Jack Clark, Randy Meyer, Kimberly Hanousek, Candy Meyer as well as 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was proceeded in death by his father, mother, wife Evelyn “LaVonne”, son Walter Clark, 3 siblings: Mitch, Raymond and Tom Yovino.
David had a true love of Country music, singing and playing his guitar. He loved playing locally at places like the community center, and other local places in and around Estacada, and was known to his friends as “Dancing Dave.”
David “Kenny” as known to many, will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
