In Loving Memory Of

Elbert Frank Lowry

October 6th, 1941 - August 14th, 2024

Obituary

Elbert Frank Lowry, aged 82, went home on August 14, 2024, after a brief illness, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on October 6, 1941, in Abbotsford, BC, Canada, he was the son of Elbert and Verna Lowry. At the age of four, Elbert and his family relocated to Vancouver, Washington, where he later graduated from Vancouver High School. In 1973, he moved to Colton, Oregon.

Elbert married LaVae Olson in 1965, and together they shared a life until her passing in 2001. In 2009, he found love again and married Margie Hammond at Mountain Home Church of Elwood in Colton.

Elbert had a distinguished career as a Timber Faller, contributing significantly to the industry until his retirement. He enjoyed various hobbies that brought him joy, including gardening, beekeeping, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Margie; children, Shawna Smith, Trevor Lowry, Rochelle Princehouse, and Milo Pringle; siblings, Garry Lowry (Robyn), Delores Eiesland Wasko, and Grace Whitesides; and his cherished grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Tanesha, Madeline, Abigayle, Isabella, Courtney, and Braedon, along with great-grandchildren Adalynn, Mason, and Ollie. He is preceded in death by his sister, Madeline.

Elbert leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

“God bless you. So long”

Elbert and his Honey stand in Elwood was a staple in our little community. Honor system, (make checks payable to) noted on the box. An honorable man. His passing is a part of a changing season for us. A neighbor recently said (a shared sentiment...) "he was one of the good ones" Heaven just became a little brighter. Sending love to Margie and Shawna and family. Rhonda Durham
