Helen L. Parkison, a longtime resident, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on January 27, 1947, in Nampa, Idaho, she was the beloved daughter of Carl and Dealiah Spencer. Helen graduated from Notus High School in Idaho before her family settled in Oregon in the late 1960s, where she established her own roots. She graduated from Ontario School of Nursing in Oregon. In November 1970, Helen married Charles Parkison, sharing many loving years until his passing in 2013. She dedicated her career as a registered nurse at Coffee Creek Prison. After retiring, Helen devoted her time to Clackamas Valley Baptist Church, particularly through her involvement with Grief Share, offering comfort and support to many.
Helen had a passion for crafting and enjoyed quilting.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne.
Helen is survived by Leland and Pearl (Perry) Spencer, Doyle Griggs, both cousins. Dave Carroll, nephew. Darren Carroll and wife Darven, great-nephew. Dorothy Parkison Ernst, Donna Parkison Beebe, Patricia Parkison Rankin, Joe and Bonnie Carroll. Also nieces and nephews, Doug Parkison, Wayne Parkison, Vivian Parkison, Gary Parkison, and William Parkison. Great-nephews Mark Parkison, Richard Parkison, and Scott Parkison, along with many more nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Helen's life of service, compassion, and faith will be cherished by all who knew her.
