Jason Andrew Boden was born July 24, 1970 in Portland Oregon to Peter and Kathleen (Cummins) Boden. In 1974 the family moved to Estacada Oregon where he would grow up and attend school. In his younger years Jason developed a passion for riding motorcycles, and a love of spending time with family, friends and just about everything outdoors. In High School he and his sister Michelle would take the ski bus up to Mt Hood for skiing in winters. He loved listening to his 80’s 90’s and all music yesterday and today. Jason was a longtime resident of Estacada and also lived in Portland. He passed away suddenly at his temporary home The Veterans Village on September 28, 2026. He was 56 years old.
Jason enlisted in the United States Army in 1988. He was stationed at Fort Benning Georgia. From there he completed basic training and went on to Army airborne school. While there he contracted scarlet fever. He was honorably discharged in 1989. For most of his working life Jason held variety of jobs including construction and for the VA. He enjoyed working with his hands and developed many interests in his life.
To his family, Jason was more than a son, brother, uncle, and loved one. He was a familiar and important part of their lives. Jason truly loved his grandpa Bill. He lived with him for a period of time and they were very close. Jason truly loved all of his family. His sudden passing leaves a tremendous emptiness, and he will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. The memories shared over the years from childhood in Estacada to the many experiences and moments that followed will remain a lasting part of his family’s lives.
Survivors include his parents Peter and Kathy Boden; sisters Michelle (Bryan) Edgerton, Sarah (Buddy) Long; brother Joel (April) Boden; nieces and nephews, Tanner Long, Audrey Bunce, Brant Boden, Ellie Edgerton, Emma Edgerton and Colin Boden.
Jason will be remembered by his family for the life he shared with them, the experiences they had together, and the memories that will continue to keep him close in their hearts. He is and will be deeply missed.
