Longtime Estacada resident Jeffrey Deckert, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at a hospital in Gresham. He was 61.
Jeffrey was Born on September 10, 1962 in Portland, Oregon to Richard and Shirley (Meeds) Deckert. He was raised in Estacada where he went to school and graduated. Jeffrey married Lora Jane Burrow on May 29, 1987 in Estacada, Oregon. He worked for Ferrell Gas and would continue to work in propane for his entire career until he retired from Suburban Propane in October of 2021. Jeffery also became a volunteer firefighter in October of 1982, after 32 years he retired as a lieutenant in October of 2014.
Jeffrey had many hobbies such as, fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. Going to the beach, working in the yard and being a part of the fire department.
Survivors include his wife, Lora Jane Deckert; grandchildren, Isaiah, Keziah, Caden, Logan and Arya; son, Aaron Deckert (Ashley); daughter, Crystal Deckert; mother, Shirley Deckert; brothers, Brian Deckert, David Deckert; sister, Jennie Davidson and many nieces and nephew. Jeffrey is Preceded in death by his father, Richard Samuel Deckert and grandmother, Anna Shelley.
