Jimmy Alan Gehrke came into this world on June 24, 1956 in Portland, OR. Jim was the seventh child of eight siblings. He spent the first few years of his life in the Skyline area before his family moved to Gresham. During Jim's high school years, he lived in Weiser, ID until returning to the Portland area.
Jim was employed by Boeing of Portland for most of his adult life, working as a machinist in straightening and serving as team leader in his later years before retiring in 2013.
In 1982, Jim met Andrea Wetzel, and they married on August 20, 1983. Daughter Jana Marie was born on Jim’s 29th birthday, and son Timothy Alan came along on May, 5, 1988.
Jim is survived by his wife and two children; siblings Linda (Greg), Barb (Bill), Erv (Cheryl) and Steve; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geraldine; brothers Vern and Bobby, and sister Pam.
Jim was friendly, outgoing, sweet and loving. He loved being with family and taking trips to the beach and Eagle Crest. He enjoyed friends and playing cards, dinner outings, and just being around people. He will be very much missed by all who knew him. We love you, Jim. Rest in peace.
