In Loving Memory Of

Joanne Winthrop

August 13th, 1946 - February 21st, 2019

Obituary

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Estacada First Baptist Church followed by a committal service at Forrester Cemetery.

Joanne Gayle Hodsdon was born on August 13th 1946 in San Diego, California. As a teenager Joanne discovered she had a fierce love for God that helped guide her on an amazing life journey. In 1966 Joanne was joined by her love Jack Winthrop, on her journey as husband and wife.

Joanne was a lifelong entrepreneur and a savvy sales woman. Her negotiating skills came in handy while convincing her husband to move 24 different times with six children in tow, always chasing beauty and searching for the next adventure. Among the several places they settled were Eugene Oregon, Anchorage Alaska, Whidbey Island Washington, and finally landing in the Estacada area in 1996.

Joanne loved life and everything in it, and was always saying that everything was “the best she ever had”, whether it be her current meal or latest hairstyle.

Her love was contagious and still lives on through her husband Jack Winthrop of 52 years, their six children Sheridan Coleman (Todd) Trey Winthrop (Jamie) Jordan Winthrop (Elise) Brittan Winthrop (Ed) Canaan Winthrop (Victoria) Eastan Schultze (Eric) and nine grandchildren. Please join us in celebrating this beautiful woman, while we place her life in God’s eternal care.

She was a loving person and wonderful mother and my friend! I will always think of her and remember all the good things. Marcia Marcia
I always remember my Aunt Joanne laughing and smiling and having fun with all the kids. She always enjoyed having family get togethers. I’ll always remember her smile and her big big hugs that she gave us. All her kisses and the love she gave to everyone. She was always there when someone needed a hug or a laugh. She was a wonderful mother to all her children and grandchildren. She is always in my heart and will forever be missed. I love you Aunt Joanne, Rest In Peace. Christine
Words cannot express the sadness and empty ness that I feel. Joanne was such a great friend! She always told me I was her “ Best” friend but everyone was her Best friend. She had MANY friends who she always spoke so highly of. Joanne was always fun to be with. Just hanging out, eating, going to events or just talking. There was never a dull moment. Joanne loved her family so very much. She always spoke highly of all of them. She always was so proud to share all of her children’s and grandchildren’s a tivites. Her love for her family really showed. Joanne’s love for Jesus confirms her security in His arms. Until we meet again my friend, you will be missed! Pam Pittman
