Longtime Estacada resident, Marcella Piersall, died on July 19, 2023 at Willamette Falls Providence Hospital, Oregon City. She was 78 years old.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Marcella June Brueske was born November 25, 1944 in Fargo, North Dakota to Louis and Fern (Proctor) Brueske. She was raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming by her mother alone with two older sisters and she attended Hebard Grade School, Johnson Junior High and graduated from Cheyenne East High School in the Spring of 1963. She had various jobs including curb-hop at the A&W Drive -in and she was a waitress at the Logan Avenue Restaurant before becoming a homemaker. She married Rush (RC) Chapman Piersall Jr. on 3 August 1963 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They moved to Oregon in 1972 with Grady Edward and Cody Michelle. Tiffany Marie was born at Willamette Falls Hospital after they arrived in Oregon. They built their first home in Gladstone, then they built their next home north of Estacada in 1979.
Marcella enjoyed sewing, pottery making and glazing, artistic paintings, sculpting art figures and busts, gardening and flowers of all kinds ~ Blue Hydrangeas were her favorite as were Rhododendrons and Azaleas of all colors. One of her major interests, in which she excelled, was her family Genealogy. She was always delighted to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren ~ loving them all.
Marcella was preceded in death by her oldest sister Bonnie Jeanne Jameson, her son Grady Edward Piersall and her mother Fern Penick.
Survivors include her husband RC Piersall Jr.; daughters Cody (Jim) and Tiffany (Steve); granddaughters Shelly (Joe), Kiah (Chris), Autumn, Kari, Grace and Rylee; grandson James (Michele); great granddaughters Cheyenne, Melanie, Hailey, Lily, Chevelle, Savanna and Paisley; great grandsons James, Rush III, Justin and Weston.
