Mary Ann Layton – Obituary Longtime Estacada resident, Mary Ann Layton, died at her home on Friday, April 7, 2023. She was 89 years old. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Estacada Funeral Chapel. Private Interment will be at Viola Cemetery. Mary Ann Ficken was born January 15, 1934 in Bison, Kansas to August and Anna (Seuser) Ficken. She was raised in Kansas after high school, she had various jobs like working as a car hop on roller skates. Mary Ann met LeRoy Layton while visiting in Oregon at age 15. On January 15, 1954 she married LeRoy in Bison, Kansas. They made their home in Hutchenson, Kansas and started their family. He transferred his job at Sherwin Williams to the Portland area where they made their home in the Viola area. Mary Ann was a homemaker most of her life but worked for a time with Kelly Services as a temp for various jobs. Mary Ann enjoyed reading the bible, play cards, cribbage, piano and loved her TV game shows. Survivors include her daughters, Cathy (Dale) Babbitt-Smith, Cyndy (Billy) Cessnun; sons, Randy (Tammy) Layton, Joe (Penny) Layton; 6 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy in 2018.
