Obituaries

We are sad to announce the passing of dedicated father, son, brother and friend, Micah Aaron Westgate Sr. of Portland Oregon.
He died suddenly at age 59 on November 20th, 2022.

He leaves behind 6 children; Micah Westgate Jr., Cassandra Westgate, Acacia McClaughry, Noah Westgate, Ezra Westgate, Madison Pranz, and grandchildren; Makayla and Leviathan Westgate, Quinn McClaughry, and Leonidas Raines (due to be born December 2022).

He is survived by parents; Ora and Lee Jacobson, and Frank and Alice Westgate; and siblings Ethan Westgate, Tim Groenig, Michelle Sumner, Tirzah Westgate, Anne Jacobson, Lori Beebe, Jennifer Benjamin, Jef Benjamin, Max Benjamin, Bill Coleman, Kellee Slagle, Kimberly Deloach, Colleen Walker, ;as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by brother Joel Westgate and sister Hilma.

Micah worked as a
Photo Retoucher for RR Donnelley Commercial Advertising in Portland Oregon. He has worked in the industry for over 30 years.

Micah loved being in the outdoors and spent many weekends at his other home in Lincoln City Oregon at the beach. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and just being with friends and family.

Recently, when asked to describe his passions in life he answered “my family”. His children are grateful for the time he spent with them over the years.

No funeral services planned. A celebration of life will be held at the end of January 2023 for which details will be announced at the beginning of January 2023.
