Rosalee was born on April 12, 1930 in Broadwater, Nebraska. She passed away at her home in Molalla on Nov. 20th at the age of 94. She was the daughter of Frank and Nellie Matson. As a child, her family moved to Wyoming where she attended Whistle creek school and graduated from Powell high school. Her father died when she was 10 years old from injuries he received in WWI. She lived in Powell, Wyoming with her mother and grandparents, Martin and Bertha Umbenhower. After graduating from Powell high school she worked at the state entomology department where she met and married Howard Beaudoin in 1951. Her daughter, Vicki was born in Powell. They then moved to Denver, Colorado and had their second child, Debra before moving to Portland where their third daughter, Terrie was born. Rosalee had worked for White Stag and as a secretary for an insurance agency. In 1968 she went to work for the Corps of Engineers in the legal and disaster and navigation and executive office of Colonels and Generals. She worked in the field offices after Hurricane Andrew, Mt. Together they managed Belknap Hot Springs until retiring again in 1997. Bill preceded her in death in 2002.

She was an active member of the Molalla Moose Lodge, Women of the Moose  and Molalla VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends every Saturday and also at the Moose lodge. Her passion was dancing and she even joined the Squaws and Paws square dancing club. She also enjoyed motorcycle riding, having rode in a rally to Baker City and rode a mechanical bull for 30 seconds with the group,  horseback riding, having rode a mule into Grand Canyon and rode in the Molalla Buckeroo parade,  white water rafting, having rafted the Rogue river 4 times, Deschutes river 12 times and Clackamas river 6 times,  zip lining, and sky diving 10 times,  even into her 80’s.

Her sister, Willamae preceded her in death in 2023. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Bob) Thomas of Daytona Beach, FL, Debra (Scott) Mitzel of Molalla, and Terrie (Craig) Davis of Mulino; granddaughter, Angela (Chris) George of Bountiful, UT, grandsons; Brandon (Molly) Wilcox of Nashville, TN, Jim (Rikki) Davis of Lincoln, MT; Brent (Crissy) Wilcox of Omaha, NE, Steve  Davis (girlfriend, Alex Dixon) of Molalla; nephews, Tony (Lynn)  Shuler of Idaho and Jim (Kathy) Shuler of Wyoming; step-grandchildren; Stephen (Cynde) Schiewe of Portland and Jeff Schiewe of Woodstock, IL and 18 great-grandchildren; along with many cousins and friends who she cared for deeply.

A special thank you to Serenity Hospice for their care, tenderness and compassion in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Dec. 6th at 3:00 pm at the Molalla Moose Lodge,

A Committal service will be held in Lovell, Wyoming

A special note read to Rosalee just moments before passing by her great granddaughter, Stella

Roses are red, violets are blue, see future down by a lake, a trout on a hook,

a lawn to rake, friends to make, chores to do,

Memories made, flowers to bloom, children to feed, money to make

Don’t worry you never made one Mistake

Until we meet again

I’ll keep our memories safe…Forever

I met Rosalee through another customer and friend Jim, he asked me check on Rosalee she was having Computer problems. 15+ years later I was still checking on her, she was a WONDERFUL lady, I loved coming to see her to fix whatever malady she had gotten herself into! LOL. She loved to get on Facebook to see the pictures of her grandchildren and family. I counted her as my friend, I will miss getting her messages, "I broke it again!, you gotta come fix it! John Steward
I first met Rosalee the day I decided to go dancing. I don't remember exactly where we met, I just know we ended up having great fun that evening. And, more than 50 years later, we were still having fun until earlier this month when she moved on to pursue her life in a more perfect place. Rosalee was like a sister to me and I will miss her terribly until we are able to meet up once again. Carole Schlepp
