Sandra Elaine Dunlop Worland passed away on April 23, 2023, after a brief illness. She was 76 years old. Sandra was the mother of four children Russell Jay Anders, Brandi Elaine Anders King, Geffrey Paul Worland, Joseph Patrick Worland and nine grandchildren.
Sandra was born in Portland, Oregon on June 15, 1946 to Simpson and Constance (Oberg) Dunlop. Sandra spent most of her early childhood living on the Oregon Coast and attended most of elementary school there. When she was not at the coast she spent time in Estacada with her father or her two grandmothers. Her favorite pastime was riding her horse, Cielo. Sandra graduated from Estacada Union High School class of “64 and had the leading role in the school play Anne of Green Gables.
Sandra’s work career started at the telephone company in downtown Portland. Then she worked in office management doing accounts receivable. A long time position was also held at Larry’s Sporting Goods in Oregon City.
Sandra loved to travel. Whether it was taking her grandkids for a trip to the Oregon Coast, the vista at Timberline lodge, or visiting grandkids in Texas. She also took her children to Washington DC, Mississippi, and Florida. After high school, she traveled to Europe and lived a short time in Germany.
Sandra was also the family planner. She made sure everyone in her family and extended family received birthday cards, planned home themes like Kentucky Derby or free ice cream cones at her local store. She liked to plan menus of events weeks in advance.
Sandra was the family historian and genealogist. She spent years researching and compiling family information and recording into family trees. Often people would contact her to locate a grave marker in her area and have her send them photos of the markers in return: they would send her pictures to add to her files of her own family markers.
She was survived by her children and grandchildren Ava, John Michel, Emma, Christopher, Rilee, Kaylee, Bailey, and Joshua. Sisters Sharon Dunlop, Susan Dunlop Hash and brother Samuel Dunlop. She was preceded in death by her parents, Constance Oberg Beadles and Simpson Dunlop.
Sandra’s children will share plans for her internment at Portland Mausoleum at a future date.
