Stephen Leroy Castle, aged 84, passed away on January 11, 2025. Born in Portland to Margaret and David Castle, Stephen was a proud graduate of Cleveland High School.
His professional journey began with Western Electric, and at the age of 22, he honorably served in the Army. In 1975, he married Janice Sleeper in Citrus Heights, California, marking the beginning of a cherished partnership. Stephen later worked for Union Pacific Railroad, dedicating 26 years of service before retiring. His passion for community led him to return to work as a bus driver for the Estacada School District, a role he filled for 10 years until his second retirement in 2020.
An avid outdoorsman, Stephen had a variety of hobbies, including a passion for hunting and a particular joy for fishing, which allowed him to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Stephen is survived by his loving family and friends who will remember him fondly for his kindness and zest for life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
