Stephen Hayes, aged 76, passed away on September 23, 2024.
Stephen was born on June 15, 1948, in Tillamook Oregon, he was a beloved son of Dr. Clemens and Martha Hayes. Spent his formative years in Tillamook where he graduated from the Tillamook high school where he enjoyed playing on the football team. Cecelia Naegeli was his high school sweet heart and they married in 1969 at the Episcopal church cherished by his family. The couple initially resided in Springfield while he pursued his education earning a degree in jet mechanics from Lane Community College. Their journey led them to purchase the family cabin in Tillamook and started their family in 1974. Eventually, they settled in Tualatin, where they raised their children and spent the next 30+ years. In 2013 they purchased a farm in Estacada where he embraced the joys of farming.
He was an entrepreneur at heart and started a cedar shake mill, lumber mill, and a steel manufacturing business that provided him the opportunity to travel to various countries.
Stephen had a passion for hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia; sons, Brian (Emily) and Keith (Amanda); sister, Cherie Chaffee; brother, Tim; and his cherished grandchildren, Kristina, Michael, Madelyn, Bryce, Lillian, and Harper.
