Longtime Estacada resident, Tom Turner, died suddenly on Saturday, August 5, 2023.  He was 77 years old.

A celebration of his life picnic on  Saturday, September 9, 2023 at noon at Metzler Park.

Thomas Joseph Turner was born November 28, 1945 in Portland to Lucian and Lucille (Hoak) Turner.  He was raised in Estacada where he graduated from high school.  Tom received his Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from O.I.T. while playing 3 sports and began working for the US Forest Service

Tom married his childhood sweetheart on August 17, 1968 in Estacada.  He built his home from the lumber from their property.  He retired from the Forest Service after 43 years of service.  After retirement, he worked as a contractor. 

Tom enjoyed golfing, hunting and being in the community during sports events.  He was especially passionate about supporting his grandchildren in sports and the rest of the community.  He was an active member of Estacada Community Fellowship.  He also had a great love for candy.

Survivors include his wife, of a few days away from 55 years, Celia; son, Shane (Barbara) Turner; daughter, Amy (John) James; sisters, Nancy Swayne, Harriett Currier, Mary Haneberg; brothers, Clifford and David Turner and 5 grandchildren.
